The students of Neelakanta Sivan Cultural Academy showcased their talents at the Thyagaraja aradhana festival held at Ganapathy Sachidananda Ashramam, Velachery, on February 17. The annual festival kicked off with a ‘namasankirthanam’ then followed by rendering of Pancharatna kritis. In the afternoon session, students of the academy presented selected songs of Saint Composer Thyagaraja. C.S. Sajeev, founder of the academy, performed a vocal concert accompanied by Nagai Muralidharan on the violin, Thiruvarur Bhaktavatsalam on the mrudangam and Kanjira artist Papanasam Sethuraman.
