Cash award, gold coin

They were presented with cash award and gold coin for presenting the best project ‘An Efficient System for Sketch Based Image & Retrieval’.

The award was instituted by TATA Consultancy Services Limited for motivating the students to bring out innovation in Information Technology.

“Focus on research activity”

While presenting the awards, Global Head Academic Interface programme, TCS, K. Kesavasamy stressed the importance of innovation and urged the students to focus on research activity of social importance to bring laurels to the institution.

The function was presided over by Chairman, SRM Group of Institutions, Ramapuram and Tiruchi Campus, R. Shivakumar. Head Accreditation Process (South India), TCS, A.K. Pattabiraman briefed the salient features of the award and also the role of TCS in promoting innovation in the field of Information Technology.

Vice-principal K. Kathiravan in his welcome address, explained the contributions of the college in the area of research. Director, SRM Ramapuram Campus, R. Narayanasamy, Director, E&T, SRM University and Governing Council Member of the College, Muthamizhselvam also spoke.

Placement Officer of the College, Radha Sivaprasad proposed a vote of thanks.
