The women’s volleyball team from St. Joseph’s College of Engineering is a dominant force in the state. After its recent win in the State Championship in Sivakasi, the team, for whom Sindhu has been outstanding in all the competitions, claimed the handsome trophy in the first state level championship conducted by the John Memorial Sports Foundation at the Mayor Radhakrishan Stadium last Sunday.

Encountering some resistance from Ethiraj College in the final, St. Joseph’s managed to prevail over its rival in four sets. State player, Sindhu, came out with an all round performance both at the net and from the mid-court. The players showed excellent co-ordination and retrieving skills in the match, much to the delight of the big gathering.
