Anna Adarsh College in Anna Nagar organised its 12th edition of SPORTEN, a multi-discipline inter-college tournament for women recently. Over 30 colleges took part in this annual meet.

The College’s Department of Physical Education organised competitions in chess, badminton, ball badminton, volleyball, throwball and basketball.

Stella Maris garnered much of the glory by winning in four events – chess (team), badminton (invidividual and team) and basketball.

The college correspondent Manjeet Singh Sethi, who is also Vice President of Punjab Association inaugurated  the tournament and the guest of honour for the closing session was T. Balavinayagam, Secretary, Throwball Association. Incidentally the host emerged victorious in the throwball event.

Other dignitaries present at the prize distribution included among others Dr Jayashree Ghosh, Principal and Dr S. Suganya, College’s Director of Physical Education. Other winners were: chess (individual): MOP; volleyball: Vel’s University; throwball: Anna Adarsh.
