A 15-day skill development programme for women was held at the Entrepreneurship Development Cell of Tagore Engineering College in Rathinamangalam village near Vandalur.
The 15-day programme was on ‘beauty treatment and training for women self-employment’. P. Priyadarsini, Head, Department of Management Studies and chief coordinator of the Cell inaugurated the programme.
Course on beautician was coordinated by Smitha Mathew and A.J. Freni and the course on tailoring was coordinated by Senthilmurugan and Balakrishnan. 55 women, mostly illiterate and from poor families took part in the programme. R.S. Arulperum Selvi, S. Sangeetha were the trainers of beautician course, a note from the college said.
