Indian Pulp and Paper Technical Association organised its 49th annual seminar on “Innovation and Best Practices in Pulp and Paper Manufacturing” recently. The event was inaugurated by the Minister for Industries, P. Thangamani.
N. Gopalarathnam, Chairman and MD, SPB Limited; Sanjay Singh, CEO of PSPD, ITC Limited; Vellangiri, Deputy Managing Director of TNPL Limited; and MBS Nair, Director (Operations) of Emami Paper Limited other leaders from other industries were present on the occasion.
Technologists, engineers and scientists from Indian and overseas paper mills, machinery suppliers and research institutions presented papers on topics concerning raw material constraints, use of latest technologies, economy of scale, energy, environment and water related issues in the industry.
In his address, Kasi Viswanathan, Deputy Managing Director of Seshasayee Paper and Boards Limited and Chairman of the organizing committee said, “We are immensely pleased to organise the 49th annual seminar in Chennai.
The seminar has been a very successful forum for IPPTA that allows people who are connected with the industry to meet each other on the same platform to discuss about the industry scenario and thus develop innovative solutions.”
