SMK Fomra Institute of Technology (SMKFIT) organised a national-level seminar on ‘Power Quality Issues, Problems and Solutions.’ Participants were from engineering colleges and industries. As many as 60 technical papers were presented on the subject.

V.T. Ramachandran, Vice-Chairman, Institution of Engineering and Technology, was the chief guest. R. Raja, principal, SMKFIT, delivered the welcome address and T. Srinivasan, dean, SMKFIT, felicitated the gathering.  

The programme dealt on subject such as power quality problems, power quality solutions and IEEE Standard 519-1992, harmonics, customers interested in power quality concerns, utility representatives dealing directly with customers, utility engineers and others.

The professors of EEE Department — C. Sharmila, V. Rajni and A.N. Aravindan spoke on fundamental challenges faced by power consumers.

At the valediction, certificates were distributed to the participants.
