With an objective to increase the marketing opportunities of self-help groups’ (SHGs) products, the Project Implementation Unit of Tamil Nadu Corporation for Development of Women Limited in association with Entrepreneur Development Cell of Punjab Association’s Anna Adarsh College organised bazaars at D.G Vaishnav College, Ethiraj College for Women, Stella Maries College and Anna University. In these bazaars, 191 SHGs took part and a sale to the tune of Rs.10.24 lakh was registered.
The event was inaugurated by Sujatha Pugazhendi, Managing Director of Sports Performance Assessment and Rehabilitation Research Counselling Institute, Chennai along with Joint Director and Project officer, Mahalir Thittam, Chennai Unit, S. Snehalatha and Principal of Anna Adarsh College, Jayashree Ghosh.
Stalls of handmade products
The bazaar had over 35 stalls of various handmade products like artificial jewellery, wooden products, paintings, soft toys, clay toys, readymade garments, jute products, packed foods and traditional food courts.
Tamil Nadu Corporation for Development of Women Limited has plans to organise this event in other colleges as well.
