Members of the Rotary Club of Guindy celebrated Rose Day at the Matha Trust, Cancer Hospital Annexure, Adyar, recently. The rotarians, with a strong commitment to serve the needy in health care and rehabilitation, decided to do their bit to spread a smile and bring cheer to patients afflicted with cancer.

Rtn. S.M. Balaji, president, and members of Rotary Club of Guindy, along with their family members took it upon themselves to organise breakfast, lunch, tea time snacks and dinner for the 300 inmates at the Matha Trust. A total of 200 bed sheets were donated by the club members to the hospital.

The event was co-ordinated by Rtn. Satish, Director, Community Services - Health and the patients were lovingly served by over 15 club members and their family.

The club has decided to make the Rose Day an annual event to bring cheer to cancer patients and spread awareness about steps to prevent oneself from cancer through lifestyle corrections.
