Various celebrities and film stars have been endorsing these sun shades that have become their trademark. Cat-eye sunglasses are a fad this summer.
These are the retro shades with big frames that cover the entire eye area.
The latest collection of many high-end brands like Prada and Christian Dior showcased this trend, a throwback to the 1950s and 60s.
“Though Aviators and cat-eye sunglasses are popular, customers prefer the latter during summer,” says Uday from Fastrack.
Aparna, a software engineer says, “during summer I prefer shades with big frames that protect my eyes from piercing sun rays. I recently bought a pair of these glasses and I love wearing them to beat the hot sun.”
These shades can be worn on any type of outfit, from the most modern to the most classic. Wear it by necessity or by choice, a pair of sunglasses always adds to your look.
Cat-eye sunglasses look best on square and diamond-shaped faces. Rahul, store manager of Charles and Keith says, “Aviators are an all-time favourite. During summer these retro glasses are most desired. Once the summer gets over people don't get a chance to wear these shades that's why they want to make the most of it during this time of the year.”
These shades can cost anywhere between Rs.1,600 and Rs. 5,000. Ayesha, a student says, “I don't mind the price. For me being up-to-date in terms of fashion is the most important thing.” Summer is the best time to add some zing to the looks. So why not be different than just being counted part of the crowd?
