As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), State Bank of India, Local Head Office (LHO), College Road, gifted a van to Ramana Sunritya Aalya (RASA), a centre for rehabilitation of children with disabilities, Abhiramapuram. The vehicle key was presented to Dr. Ambika Kameshwar, Managing Trustee, RASA, by A. Krishnakumar, Managing Director and Group Executive (National Banking), State Bank of India, to facilitate transporting of children and parents, at a function held recently.

The bank also donated a computer at a cost of Rs. 1 lakh to track a student’s progress from ‘SBI Children Welfare Fund’. The fund is a trust created by the bank and its employees by voluntary contributions towards institutions involved in children’s welfare.

During the occasion, a braille embosser and a printer was presented to Founder and Trustee of Nethrodaya, C. Govinda Krishnan, an institution for visually impaired, Mogappair West, to enable the institution to print and provide free textbooks to its students, who are pursuing higher studies.
