Dream Zone, a school of creative studies, organised a rally in Marina beach on October 28 in commemoration of the World Animation Day.

Over 100 participants including students, art teachers, digital content creators, animators, visual effects professionals from various institutions across the city took part. They wore masks and some dressed themselves as cartoon characters.

Dora, Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Tom and Jerry and Spiderman were the popular characters seen cheering and enthralling kids, youngsters and even the older generation, who came to witness the rally. Masks of cartoon characters were gifted to children. The colourful evening parade of animation characters ended near University of Madras.

“This rally is our initiative towards creating awareness on the art of animation. The industry has enormous scope and opportunities for the younger generation. Our Dream Zone would play a key role in aiding the industry's growth by setting up at least 50 creative design schools across the country before June 2011,” said S.K. Selvan, Director, Dream Zone.
