Skipper and wicket-keeper V.S. Nitin was in the thick of action, in front of the stumps as well as behind it, as PSBB (Millennium) emerged champion in the PSBB inter-school under-10 tournament. In the semifinal, Millennium’s fighting spirit was to the fore as it defended 140 against host PSBB (KK Nagar). Though the latter raced away to 72 without loss in nine overs, V. Karthik (five for 18) and Pratham (three for 38) bundled out the KK Nagar side for 124 to fashion a thrilling win.

The final saw Nitin in rousing form as his side chased 141 without fuss against Chettinad Vidyashram. His splendid 85 settled the issue in Millennium’s favour and also won him the ‘player of the final’ and ‘best batsman’ awards.

Former Tamil Nadu player Sunil Subramaniam presented the prizes.
