Anandam, a public charitable trust runs a free home for senior citizens in Kallikuppam, Ambattur. The home is celebrating decade of service. It is organising ‘Anandam Isai Vizha, a musical treat’ for three days from Feb. 15. Seasoned artistes in the field of Carnatic music and devotional music will be performing during the festival.

On Feb. 15, Gayathri Girish will present a vocal music concert at 4 p.m. and Bombay sisters C. Saroja and C. Lalitha would render vocal music at 6 p.m. On Feb. 16, Vijayalakshmi Subramanian will present a vocal music concert at 9 a.m. and at 4 p.m. on the same day, Mambalam Sisters Vijayalakshmi and Chitra would render vocal music. On Feb. 17, Vijay Siva will present vocal music at 9 a.m., while students of Harish Raghavendra School of Music, West Mambalam would render violin concert at 11 a.m. Ghatam exponent Vikku Vinayakram will present ‘Laya Samarpanam’ at 4 p.m. and the valedictory function will be held at 6 p.m.

The Home needs Rs. 10,000 per day. The trust is the process of augmenting their corpus fund, the proceeds of which will sustain Anandam’s activities in the years to come.
