Kalaa Manjari, an after school activity centre at Alwarpet, is forming a chorus singing for children titled ‘Sa Re Gaa Ellorum Paadalam'. The first batch of children will be trained for 12 weeks culminating in a public performance which has been planned for November 3. The theme will be ‘Songs of Indian Poets' – a repertoire of songs culled from the works of Rabindranath Tagore, Subramanya Bharathi and other great Indian poets.

To gather the group, an audition has been planned on August 4 to gauge the interest of the little ones. Musician Sangeetha Sivakumar and actor Janaki Sabesh will be on the jury. The children will be trained by Sudha Raja of Madras Youth Choir. Kalaa Manjari is at 6 / 12, I Street, Venus Colony, Alwarpet. Ph: 2431 2676.
