The four-day Sundaram Finance Mylapore Festival 2013 was organised recently at Nageswara Rao Park in Mylapore. In the event, 15 students of Chettinad Vidyashram presented a music concert without a mike. Accompanied by Varun Narayana on the mridangam and Sathya Rajesh, who took on the dual role of playing the tabala and the kanjira, these students aged below 15years presented bhajan compositions.

P Viswanathan, company secretary, Sundaram Finance Limited, gave away certificates to the participants.

The aim of the programme was to hone the music skills of children below 15 years of age and to help them shed their inhibitions and give them the confidence to perform in front of a larger audience.

Over 550 children have took part in the ‘Mikeless Kutcheri’ programme. Sundaram Finance conducts audition to select the artistes.
