MOP Vaishnav College for Women claimed the TNCA Women's inter-collegiate cricket league, getting the better of Queen Mary's College in the final here recently.

S. Sharada (four for eight) turned in an excellent performance with the ball in the final, to go with the form she displayed in the rest of the tournament, to help MOP Vaishnav lift the title. The other MOP Vaishnav players who left their mark on the tournament were M.D. Tirushkamini, V. Abinaya, Aishwarya Priyadarshini and Vinodini.

Strong bowling display

MOP Vaishnav got the better of SS Jain College and SDNB Vaishnav during the league stage, thanks in main to their strong bowling displays. SS Jain was bowled out for 28, thanks to a four-wicket haul by Sharada while SDNB was bowled out for 32 with Vinodhini picking up six wickets.

Principal Nirmala Prasad, Physical Directress Kandammal, Vice Principal of St. Bede's HSSS Thomas, Member of TNCA Selection Committee for Women's Wing Sumathi Iyer and Coach P.S. Ramesh congratulated the team.
