Over 100 school children below 15 years would present mike-less ‘Kutcheri in the Park’ at the chess square of the Nageswara Rao Park in Mylapore from January 10 to 13. The show is organised as part of the four-day ‘Sundaram Finance Mylapore Festival’. No mikes and speakers would be used for the Kutcheri.

On January 10 at 6.30 a.m., 15students of Chettinad Vidyashram (Guru Bhuvaneswari Ramesh & A. Suganda) accompanied by Varun Narayana on the Mridangam and Sathya Rajesh on the Tabala would present a group Kutcheri.

 On January 11 at 6.30 a.m., group Kutcheri by 25students of Chettinad Hari Shree Vidyalayam, (Guru M. Kousalya) accompanied by R. Kishore on the Mridangam, would be conducted.

 Over January 12 at 6.30 a.m., 15students of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan (Guru Annapurani) accompanied by V. Akash on the Mridangam and Sayee Rakshith on the Violin would perform a group Kutcheri.

On January 13, over 50 students from DAV Mat Higher Secondary School (Guru Guhaprasath) accompanied by V. Suresh (percussionist) would present a Kutcheri.

The idea behind the Kutcheri in the Park is to promote young musical talent aged below 15 years and to help them shed their inhibitions and give them the confidence to move up to the next level.
