Global Organization for Divinity India Trust (GOD), a non-profit organisation, conducted a self-awakening programme – ‘Discover the Power in You,' for students appearing for board exams, this year. The programme organised on January 8 at Kamaraj Hall, Teynampet, advocated the magic of the mantra – ‘Hare Rama Hare Rama'.

It was said that chanting of mantra composes the mind and gives mental focus. As many as 3,000 students from more than 60 schools participated in the event, who chanted the mantra for 15 minutes, following a value based lecture by Dr. A. Bhagyanathan and M.K. Ramanujam.

Mr. Bhagyanathan said that chanting the mantra magnified one's potential. “In the competitive world, concentrating on such things will give the edge over others,” he said. For students, it is ideal to chant 11 times a day.

Students who participated in a similar programme last year, shared their experience during the event.

Representatives of the organisation said that this was the fourth time that such programme is being conducted in Chennai. Apart from this, mass prayer meets are being conducted throughout Tamil Nadu. Trained volunteer of the organisation conducts moral and motivational classes in various orphanage centers and schools in India and across the globe.  The Trust can be contacted at 51, Seventh Avenue, Ashok Nagar. Ph: 2489 5875.
