Lectures, craft fair to mark convention

The Theosophical Society will convene its 138th International Convention from December 26 to 31. As part of the event, The Vocational Training Centre will organise an exhibition on weaving and handicrafts. There will be stalls selling handbags, purses, pouches, travelling bags, cotton and jute mats, cotton carpets, kerchiefs, towels, greeting cards, wire baskets and others.

An exhibition on tailoring will be inaugurated on December 27 at Social Welfare Centre at 1:30 p.m. The expo will feature dresses and embroidered works meant for women and children stitched by students of the vocational centre. Both the exhibitions end on December 30 at noon. On rest of the days the fairs will be open between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. For details, contact S. S. Krishnamurthy, former Chief Election Commissioner of India, at 10 a.m.; ‘Sustainability: The World’s Big Challenge’ by Rajendra K. Pachauri, Director General, The Energy and Resources Institute; on December 29{+,}‘The Wisdom of Contemporary Physics’ by Ulrich Mohrhoff, Professor of Physics, -----, Pondicherry; and on December 30, ‘A Power that Maketh all Things New’ by Pedro Oliveira, Acting Education Co-ordinator, Australian Section.
