The Dhandeeswaram Public Library celebrated Children's Day by organising the prize distribution function for a quiz competition held for students at the library premises in Velachery on November 14.

Tamil scholar R. Vidya Sagar, who conducted the quiz programme, wanted the children to always speak the truth and explained through an incident in the life of Jawaharlal Nehru who took a vow to be honest and upright. He advised the students to take an oath to remain honest and upright, which are enough qualification for a student to succeed.

S. Kumararaja, president, Dhandeeswaram Public Library Readers' Forum, heaped praise on librarian Annadurai for his enthusiasm in spreading the reading habit among the children and for keeping the library busy by organising several events.

P. Killi Valavan, who sponsored library membership cards to students, distributed the membership cards.

Vidhya, proprietor, Srinivasa Academy, distributed prizes and certificates to the students who participated in the quiz competition. After the prize distribution function, the students had an exciting trip to the Anna Centenary Library at Kotturpuram.
