The Kilpauk Residents Welfare Association celebrated Homemakers Day on March 10, by organising a cookery contest at the Kothari Academy, Kilpauk.

Several women participated and showcased their culinary skills by preparing some mouth-watering western and Indian dishes.

B. Srilakshmi, Program in-charge, IGNOU, and Suganthi, Head, Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, Annan Adarsh College, participated and judged the contest.

Sathi Thomas, patron of the association, said true empowerment of women is the ability to face all situations in life with emotional maturity.

Prizes sponsored by Nestle Limited were distributed to the winners and participants.
