Dr. V. Raghavan Centre for Performing Arts has organised Pitru Vandanam, homage to scholar the late Dr V. Raghavan on his 32 {+n} {+d} remembrance day on April 5, 6.30-8.45 p.m. at Sri Dakshinamurthi Auditorium, P.S. High School campus, R.K. Mutt Road, Mylapore. Leela Samson, Kalakshetra director, and Chairperson, Sangeet Natak Akademi, presides and releases “Uses of Adversity,” original Prose-writing of Dr. V. Raghavan and “Umayalpuram Patantaram of Divyanama Sankirtanam of saint Tyagaraja.”

The Divyanama Sankirtanam is a publication with with text, transliteration, translation, notation and audio recording by Prof. B. Krishnamurti, musician and musicologist.

Dr. R. Tyagarajan, former head, Sanskrit Department, Presidency College, receives the first copy of Dr. Raghavan's work and Dr. N. Ramanathan, musician and musicologist, receives the first copy of Dr. B. Krishanmurthi's book.

The evening begins with rakti melam by SRGS Mohandas and S.M. Venkatesan. At the end of the book release function which took place at 7.45 p.m., Devaganavali group of R. Vedavalli will render divyanama songs.
