Best works from the Kolor Champ Tamil Nadu 2010, a paining contest held recently by Global Art India for all its students, were awarded prizes.

In a grand event held at the Kamarajar Arangam here recently, 200 winners from the contest were honoured with trophies and certificates along with their tutors from the respective centres of Global Art India.

The painting contest which was held on October 23 and 24 had 1,000 children participants who displayed their skills on the theme ‘One World.' A total of 160 best painting works selected by the judges were displayed at the venue of the prize distribution ceremony.

Addressing the winners who had assembled to receive their prizes, the judge for the evening, Shalini Biswajit, artist and owner of Forum Art Gallery, said that every participant is a winner of this contest. “Children need to be taught to draw and paint. Parents should encourage their children in participating in such events so that their talents are nurtured,” she added. A student who had completed all the levels of the course at Global Art India and others who had completed intermediate level at various centres in the city were also felicitated at the event.
