Sri Sumukhi Rajasekharan Memorial Foundation conducted the 9th Bala Vidhwan Bhavani on January 1 from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. Children and elders, including the members of the Foundation, participated in large numbers and sang bhajans, Thirupaavai, Thiruvempaavai and namavalis. Kolattam and Kummi were also performed by children and women along the four Mada Streets of Kapaleeswarar Temple and prasadam was distributed.

According to Mylapore Trio, Margazhi procession was a divine experience for the younger generation. Many kids were dressed up as Krishna, Radha, Andal and Gopis.
