Singareni colony is witnessing hectic digging for the past few weeks owing to the laying of cables by APTransco on the road that leads to Singareni colony from Saroornagar side. Deep trenches have been dug up on the road and only a narrow path remains untouched.

An uneven and slushy road is what the motorists have to use to reach any locality that falls on the road that leads to Singareni colony.

“The road condition gets worse during rains, motorists have to carefully drive through a thick bed of slush, any wrong judgment results in a fall,” says N. Yadaiah, a local resident.

“The work should have been undertaken during summer. Now the pace has slowed down due to rains and it is compounding the problems of road users,” says Vinod, a local leader.

The road has been witness to various works including a drainage line and the road has not been restored for months.

The local residents want authorities to take steps to restore the road once the present works end so as to reduce their problems in future.
