The Junior Red Cross and National Green Corps (NGC) units of the Chennai Girls higher Secondary School, Nungambakkam, jointly organised a one day dental awareness camp on dental hygiene at the school premises on August 8.

D. Elizabeth Vijayarani, Headmistress , inaugurated the dental camp.

G. Thangaraj, District Coordinator, NGC, explained the objectives of the camp and elaborated on the awareness programmes conducted for the benefit of school children. The students who participated in the camp were given dental health pack and pamphlets on dental health.

Dental specialist Kalaimani of Dr.Gupta's Specialities Centre at Purasawalkam demonstrated the daily brushing techniques and the precautionary measures to be followed by students to prevent teeth decay and other diseases.

He had a long interaction with the students on dental hygiene. S. Pakkiriammal, JRC counsellor, also participated.
