A series of songs sung on ‘Thirumananjeri Sri Lakshminarayana Perumal’ brought out by Sri Vaari Audios was released at a function held at Sri Kothandaramaswamy Temple, West Mambalam on January 19.
Velukkudi Krishnan released the CD of songs sung by Veeramani Kannan and R. Santhosha Sakthi. According to one of the co-ordinators V. Ranganathan, the sale proceeds would go to the construction of a temple at Thirumananjeri, a small village near Mayavaram. Balalayam for the new construction work started during November 2012 and the temple Samprokshanam has been tentatively fixed by the end of 2013.
Temple in disrepair
Since the number of devotees visiting the temple decreased gradually, the shrine was left uncared for and now lies in a state of disrepair. The local residents have proposed to renovate the shrine and reinstate the utsavar idol of Sri Lakshminarayana Perumal and perform the daily rituals with the help of donations .
