Paterson Cancer Center (PCC), a cancer care center, inaugurated as part of its 9{+t}{+h}anniversary celebration organised a Cancer awareness programme for school children at its centre recently.

R.S. Ramanathan, Judge, Madras High Court, inaugurating the camp, emphasised the importance of honesty and sincerity to come up in life.

Dr. Udaya Shankar, State Coordinator – Schools, appreciated the efforts of the institute and insisted on such awareness programmes to be conducted in every district of the State.

N. Kamini, Commandant, TSP XIII Battalion, in her special address, encouraged the children to disseminate what they learnt in the school and outside the school to their families, classmates and society.

Dr. R.Surendran, former Director - Gastroenterology, Stanley Medical College, interacted with the children sharing his experiences and achievements despite coming from a humble background.

He emphasised that with hard work and dedication, one can aspire to reach any thing.

Around 600 students from schools belonging to Kancheepuram, Tiruvallur and Chennai districts participated in the program.
