To usher in the festive season, Radisson Hotel organised traditional cake mixing ceremony at the hotel in Pazhavanthangal on Tuesday last. The cake mixing ceremony is a community event and heralds the festive season of Christmas and also captures the spirit of New Year. Chefs of the hotel along with the guests and senior inmates of Voluntary Health Service took part.
The traditional cake-mixing ceremony, considered as the preface to Christmas, was organised at GRT Grand on November 13.Chef Virgil James of GRT Grand with his team and special invited guests brought in the spirit of an early Christmas with the cake mixing ceremony.
About 400 kg of rich dry fruits such as walnuts, apricots, figs and orange peels were mixed with 30 litres of wine and other spirits, which would be stored until Christmas to prepare 1200 kg of Christmas cake. On the Christmas Day, this mixture will be blended with cake batter to make the cakes.
