We are experiencing great difficulty in understanding the billing aspects of BSNL landline service, particularly relating to usage charges, discounts etc. and the calculations underlying them. On approaching the authorities concerned, they are either busy or are unable themselves to explain the procedures. It would be helpful for a layman like me ,if BSNL authorities are kind enough to provide exampled explanations along with the bill itself or place the needed inputs in their official website for everyone to understand the same.

Misuse of PIN numbers
Except at ATMs, the ATM cards need not require pressing of PIN numbers by its holders for transferring money while shopping. I have read in newspapers that many losers of credit cards have lost huge amounts.
My credit card was used by my sons and friends in shopping a number of times.
This is a glaring example about how these cards are quite unsafe.
Banks must make it mandatory to operate PIN number invariably wherever it is used as being done a few companies while introducing ATM cards.
Community hall encroached
West Anand Bagh Colony, Safilguda, Malkajgiri, Hyderabad is a residential colony. The colony has a Welfare Association community hall opposite to Brindavan Gardens. Community Hall provides reading, sit outs and library for senior citizens.
But it has been occupied by Mallikarjun Pan Shop, Autos & Taxis.
Now senior citizens are being forced to vacate the place. Chairs, tables are put in front of the shop and sometimes the path is totally blocked. Complaints have been pouring from the residents to remove all the encroachments in and around Community Hall.

Deteriorating postal service
Postal service in Hyderabad is continuously deteriorating. The expensive Speed Post service (EMS) is also sloppy.
I sent a big packet of my manuscripts to my publisher in Calcutta from Banjara Hills P.O, 500034.
This was returned after three days by P.O. Humayun Nagar (500028) on the ground that the address of the sender should be written in right hand bottom corner and the name of the addressee on the left hand top corner.
I lodged a complaint after which I was reimbursed part of the charges.
However, I ignored the dictum.
Then the person at the counter of the Khairatabad P.O. refused to accept a speed post and advised that the name of the sender should be written on the back.

Salary hike for MLAs/MLCs
This has reference to the State government's largesse towards the MLA's / MLC's in giving a double fold salary hike and gifts worth Rs. 3.86 crore at the end of the budget session.
One cannot understand as to how these sops can be given to the already influential persons, when it is difficult for people to get a basic pay of 2 1/2 dollars per day, as the standard set by the U.N.

Footpath in shambles
The footpath way at Chandana Brothers Complex junction at Secunderabad is in shambles due to unfinished underground cabling system by the contractor.
It is causing inconvenience to motorists and pedestrians on this busy road. Pedestrians, who are forced to walk on the main road against the speeding vehicles, resulting to many number of accidents at this danger point.
Inconvenience to co-passengers
There is no mention about whether RTC allows commuters to carry luggage like wooden, steel boxes, suitcases, bundles, flower baskets etc in often jam packed and overcrowded city buses.
Needs no great imagination that such luggage kept in the passageway and entry and alighting points by some commuters cause terrible inconvenience to co-passengers.
If RTC allows such a commuter-inconveniencing facility, the rule has to be altered and insist on the conductor/driver not to allow such luggage in city services, which are basically rapid mass public transport and not suburban cargo-commuter fleet.
