Bharat Vikas Parishad celebrated Swami Vivekananda's birth anniversary on January 12 at Triplicane. A procession of school students was organised during the event. The rally, which started from the Vivekananda Rock Memorial office at Singarachari Street, Triplicane, at 3.30 p.m., culminated at J.S.N. Jain Vidyalaya Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Ganapathi Street. Earlier, the rally was flagged off by T.S. Ramaswamy, Senior Advocate.

A meeting was held at Jain Vidyalaya, which was attended by school students and members of BVP branches. The teachings of Swami Vivekananda were explained to the students by V. Hariharan, National Secretary; P.M. Gopalakrishna, Zonal Secretary; Prof. B. Satagopan, Tamil Nadu State President; and Chella Subramanian, State Comvenor. A quiz programme was conducted by Mr. T.S. Ramaswamy on the cultural values of our country and cash prizes were distributed to 10 students. Natarajan, State General Secretary, proposed a vote of thanks.
