Sri Thyaga Brahma Gana Sabha, T.Nagar, invites applications from students interested in learning Carnatic music (Advance Course at Vani Sangeeta Gurukulam) and in becoming concert musicians. The gurukulam, already functioning since February 2010, is having in its faculty, Nirmala Sundararajan, a reputed and expert teacher of kritis and padas and the renowned musicologist and musician.

B.M. Sundaram is the director. Students with knowledge of a few varnams may get the application form from the sabha office during working hours. Students who have learnt Carnatic music at least for three years and capable of rendering varnams in a minimum of two speeds will gain preference.

It may be necessary to undergo training at least for two to three years to make any mark / achievement.

The non-refundable course fee, at present, is Rs. 2,500 per annum and is payable in full at the time of admission. Students will be selected only after an evaluation and screening proposed to be held on June 4.

The last date for submission of completed application forms is May 31.
