St. Patrick’s Alumni Association, St. Patrick’s Anglo Indian Higher Secondary School, Gandhi Nagar, Adyar, will organise ‘Pongal Carnival 2013’ on January 13.
“The objective of the event is to raise funds to educate bright students from lower-middle class,”Capt. Shibu Issac, secretary, St. Patrick’s Alumni Association, said.
The event will have carnival games, food stalls, and above all, celebrate the harvest festival in the traditional way. More than 3,000 people from in and around Adyar are expected to take part in the carnival. The entry ticket is priced at Rs.50 inclusive of games, food, and a lucky dip. The event is open to all age groups, he pointed out.
The event is a maiden venture of the association. The event would be held annually from next year. during Pongaland .
