Airtel donates PCO coin boxes

As many as forty persons with disabilities were provided with a PCO coin box each in a function held recently in the city.

This scheme, by Bharti Airtel Ltd, aims to supplement the livelihoods of people with disabilities by giving them an opportunity to earn extra means of revenue.

Speaking on the occasion, N. Srinivas, Mobile Services Head, Operations (Chennai), Bharti Airtel Ltd said, “The PCO boxes have a built in talk-time amount of Rs. 2,500 that can fetch the owners up to Rs. 4,500 when the services get utilised.

They can replenish it as per demands. We intend to provide the disabled people with an investment which can help them support their livelihoods.”

“We have called for the participation of our retailers and distributors in this initiative. Once the efforts succeed here, we look forward to extending it other zones of Chennai,” he said.
