West Chennai Sahodaya Schools (WCSCS) organised Teachers Day celebrations to felicitate the awardees of the cluster at Sindhi Model Senior Secondary School, Kellys, recently.

Professor from Department of English, Loyola College, Lazar Selva presided and honoured the awardees.

In the presidential address, he gave inspiring quotations and highlighted the challenging role and responsibilities of teacher.

He felicitated the 17 best teachers from the W. C. S.C. S and awarded them trophies and citations.

K. Rajeswari, a teacher from Sindhi Model Senior Secondary School, received the ‘Best Teacher Award’ for her meritorious service for the past 27 years handling Social Science. As a competent Scouts & Guides Teacher, she had been instrumental in providing training to a number of students to achieve the ‘Rajya Puraskar Award’.

Senior Principal and CEO, Margarette David Raj of Bhaktavathsalam Vidyashram, Korattur, was honoured with Lifetime Achiever Award’ for her services not only as a principal, but also in all the positions she held. The Principals, who have taken up the positions recently, were awarded for their dynamic administration.

Vice-principal of Sindhi Model Senior Secondary School, R. Usha Rani Sankar welcomed the gathering. P. Vijalakshmi, Secretary, WCSCS presented a report on the functioning of the cluster for the year. The Chairperson of WCSCS, K. R. Abdul Raheem and the Principal of the host school, introduced the Chief Guest. P N Sundari, Treasurer, WCSCS, and the Principal of Kola Saraswathi Senior Secondary School, Kellys proposed a vote of thanks.
