When people pass by Padma Rao Nagar Park they will be surprised to the see the greenery—an oasis in concrete urban sprawl.
Thanks to the civic authorities concerned who have been maintaining the park well since three decades.
Inaugurated in early 1980s it was named after Diwan Padma Rao Mudaliar and is one of the beautiful parks in Secunderabad.
Every morning you will find walkers and joggers going their routine while many senior citizens laugh their heart out as part of laughter therapy. Some do yoga, with guidance from their instructors.
At sun rise chirping birds soothe the ears. The huge trees give shade to the people. Vendors outside the park sell fresh diary products, fruits and refreshing coconut water.
“I come to this park every day. It is a very refreshing. Nature lovers have a great time here,” confides Jayshree, a house wife.
“We recollect the past and enjoy our retirement days in this park,” says Venkatraman, a senior citizen.
“I come with my grandfather here every day. It feels nice to come and enjoy the nature,” says Kanika, a school student. “Laughter is the best medicine for all ills. We do it as part of therapy as well as expressing our contentment. This park has got some special positive vibrations that attract everyone,” says Suryanarayanan, a resident.
