The metamorphosis is clearly successful and quite an interesting one of the Telugu television in recent times.

In an industry where most get shackled in an initial image they adopt and struggle to break the stereotype, Pragathi clearly emerged as a winner.

In a long innings that involved presenting news and winning accolades as the most popular news anchor on Telugu television, her appearance on the small screen for more than a decade has been a rather traditional one.

However, these days one catches up with Pragathi for a host of shows on Vanitha TV in a completely new look that is out and out different and the makeover seems to be emerging as equally winning one. For Vanitha, she presents ‘World Cinema' that presents the best of Hollywood films apart from other infotainment shows and celebrity interviews. “I do not like restricting myself in a set parameter and am keen on exploring different facets. I look at trying out different things and make a mark of my own,” says Pragathi.

Is the innings with news over?

“Actually I am not retired of news but at the same time I want to try out different presentations before I retire,” quips Pragathi, who is now into entertainment and infotainment and also is hosting a show ‘Guide' that is aimed at students preparing for competitive exams.

It is not just to anchor a show that she faces the camera. Pragathi went into acting and did a serial ‘Savirahe', a concept from Annapoorna Studios for Maa TV. And as for the latest on her acting, she is there on the big screen and can be seen in Ram Gopal Verma's ‘Raktha Charithra'.
