In order to encourage handlooms products and benefit weavers, the district handlooms and textiles department has been organising a mega handloom expo at the Revenue gardens opposite Collectorate in Karimnagar town from October 21 to 30.
It has come as boon to the people during the Diwali festivities to purchase the handlooms at an affordable cost at the exhibition in the town. The special attraction of the expo is the availability of Pochampally, Gadwal, Mangalagiri, Uppada, Dharmavaram, Venkatagiri, tie and dye and gollabama and other regions sarees.
For the politicians, they have their favourite ‘Ponduru' khadi and vegetable colour dye shirting and girls have dress materials from Mangalagiri.
Besides, there are bed sheets, lungies, towels and other handloom products on display.
The handloom products made by the weavers of Karimnagar, Ranga Reddy, Prakasham, Guntur, Warangal, Nelllore, Nalgonda and Medak districts. The organisers are offering 20 per cent discount on all the products to attract the customers.
