interiors Luxury and comfort blend in Reema Sen’s flat

“Being at home with my loved ones is the most peaceful experience for me. My family shifted to Mumbai six years ago. Today, I proudly say I am a pucca Mumbaikar. I love this city with all my heart and soul. You won’t believe it; my parents had to force me to come to Mumbai but now the city has become my lifeline.

“Surprisingly, the day I decided to move into my new flat alone, my parents were the most supportive. They were proud I was buying a house. I think that was five years ago. My only precondition was my flat had to be next door to my parents’. I had to buy it at Lokhandwala. It was an investment because I wanted to put my money into something concrete.

“I once had a harrowing time with my architect over the interiors. I did not want to go through a similar experience, so I waited till I found an interior decorator I could entrust my flat with. Thankfully, I met Twinkle Khanna who gave a meaningful definition to my house. My home today is a mirror to my soul.

“The flat was done up in just 20 days. The guys who worked under Twinkle were so perfect and professional that I didn’t have any reason to complain.

“When one enters my flat, one finds everything in white and pastel. The entire interior has a soothing feel. My flat is a combination of luxury and comfort. I revel in luxury but I would never buy an expensive crystal vase and showcase it in my home because it would make me uncomfortable even to walk around. “My home is exotic. I love every corner of it and keep it spotlessly clean. I am a cleanliness freak. I want everything to be in place. Everybody feels the house has been done up just a few days back as it is so clean.

“I like the style to be Indo-Western. I cannot stand dramatic decorations. My interiors are mellow because I am a mellow person. My dream is to own a terrace flat.

“I love, in big capital letters: MY HOME.”
