Aachi Boys vs. Girls-Season 2
(Vijay TV, Fridays & Saturdays, 8 p.m.)

Vijay TV is back with Aachi Boys vs. Girls — Season 2 from today (July 17). Venkat, Nethran, Balaji, Michael, Sivakarthikeyan Ram, Pranav and Rinson make up the boys team. The girls’ team includes Sandra, Aishwarya, Priya, Hema, Asha, Misha, Sai Promodhitha, Kavitha, Abhinaya and Krithika. The team captains will be announced on the day of launch.

The show begins with a freestyle round. Apart from solo and duet rounds, the second season will have other interesting rounds such as betting, entertainment, concept and out-of-the-box. Deepak and Divyadarshini are the hosts.

Ivanga Ippadithan
(Sirippoli, Mondays to Fridays, 7 p.m.)

The comic duo Robo Shankar and Arvind showcase their brand of humour on Kalaignar TV’s 24-hour comedy channel.

This is an interactive programme where viewers can call and talk to the hosts. The show is interspersed with funny scenes from popular movies.

Nalam… Nalamaria
(Seithigal, Wednesdays, 8.30 p.m.)

In this health-based programme on Kalaignar TV’s 24-hour news channel, the TV crew travels by van to various places. At each location, the crew meets people and encourages them to talk about any ailment that they or their near ones suffer from.

The crew then meets a specialist nearby and quizzes him/her about that particular problem and the possible remedy.

Questions relating to other ailments are also directed at the specialist.

Thisaigal
(Makkal TV, weekdays, 8.30 p.m.)

This half-hour series discusses social and political issues, with a comic touch. Stay tuned to enjoy segments such as Thadupoosi, Kaduthasi, Yaetukku Potti, Vidathu Karuppu, Oliperukki and Andru, each focussing and analysing the current affairs in a different way.

Ruslan and Ludmila
(Makkal TV, Sunday, 2 p.m.)

In this week’s instalment of Russian movies, watch Alexander Ptushko’s ‘Ruslan and Ludmila.’ The story is about the warrior-hero Ruslan who rescues his princess bride Ludmila from the evil white-bearded dwarf Tchernomor. The dwarf gains uncanny physical strength from his long white beard. Ruslan must also battle sorcerers and witches, as well as his bride’s other suitor, in order to rescue Ludmila.

Ennodu Paattu Paadungal — Senior Series — semi final round
(Jaya TV, Saturday, 8 p.m.)

The Senior Series which features singers in the age group 30-45, reaches the semi final stage on July 18, when the first of the two-part edition will be telecast.

This week the special judge of the programme being hosted by S.P. Balasubramaniam will be singer Mano.

Thirumbipaarkiraen
(Jaya TV, Mondays – Fridays, 10 p.m.)

The next segment of the five-day weekly programme which has veterans in cinema taking a nostalgic trip down memory lane will be presented by actor Jayanthi who has worked in several films in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Hindi, Malayalam and Marathi. The show will include scenes and song sequences from her films.
