How it happened

After completing B.E. in computer science, I had applied for pilot training as I was interested in touring the world. While I was waiting to hear from them, I enrolled for silambam classes under Pandian master where stars such as Suriya and Karthi used to come.

One day, director Samy who came to see Suriya spotted me. He was planning his next project post- Uyir. He came home to give the script of Mirugam. I instantly accepted the offer as I felt the film had a very good message.

How it felt

When we were shooting for Mirugam in Madurai, we saw the rushes of the film at a local theatre. That was the first time I saw myself on the big screen. I liked my portrayal. I saw the full film at Udayam theatre in Chennai along with the audience on the first day of its release. The response was good.

How life changed

It has changed for good. My dream has come true. If not as a pilot, I am now visiting various places as an actor. An added advantage is people recognise me wherever I go — I am enjoying every moment of it. I am now acting in Sarithiram (directed by Samy), Ayyanar (Raja Mithran), Adupuli (Prakash) and Aravan (Vasantha Balan). I am waiting for some good roles to prove my talent.
