This story is based on the real life experiences of Salamo Arouch, a middle weight boxing champion of the Balkan countries. Captured by the Nazis in 1943, Arouch was sent to one of their death camps where he was forced to fight over 200 opponents for the entertainment of the SS Officers. His survival and that of his family and others in his barracks depended upon his remaining champion. Willem Dafoe and Edward James Olmos play the lead roles.
