chat The most Googled and loved actor is back at scorching more hearts, this time with her Aam sutra ad
T he temperature is soaring and it's only going to get hotter, thanks to Katrina Kaif! Bollywood's most scrumptious actress is going to scorch the screen with her latest PepsiCo Slice Aam sutra advertisement.
At the very outset of the telephonic interview with her, Katrina makes it clear her avatar in the ad has nothing to do with her look in her infamous item number “Sheila ki Jawani”. “They're two entirely different concepts and roles,” she states.
Dressed in a lush mango-coloured Falguni & Shane Peacock creation, Katrina's new commercial was shot in Thailand. The designers who've dressed celebs like Katy Perry, Britney Spears, Fergie, Madonna and Ozzy Osbourne think Katrina looks the best in their creation to which the actress responds: “When designers don't get carried away by the clothes and when they ensure the costume doesn't overpower the star, it works to the advantage of the maker as well as the wearer.”
The theme of the ad campaign is along the lines of “Sabr ka phal meetha hota hai” and Kat says the statement holds true in her own case. “My journey in Bollywood started well but took off a little slowly but then it was all about being in the right place at the right time and that's how success came my way. The important thing is to wait because when something finally does happen, one's excitement knows no bounds.”
Katrina is the indubitable queen of endorsements now but that has largely to do with the number of hit films she has to her credit. She's worked with almost all the top actors in the industry but she refuses to pick her favourite. She feels: “It would be unfair to say who I've enjoyed working with the most. I've learnt so much from my co-stars whether it was Abhishek, Govinda, Salman, Akshay or Ranbir or the others that I've been cast opposite.” Kat says she looks forward to working with any actor with whom she can create great chemistry onscreen.
Having worked with Akshay Kumar on a host of films from “Namastey London” and “Welcome” to “Singh is Kinng” and “Tees Maar Khan”, most of which turned out to be box office hits, it is but natural to ask Katrina if Akshay has been some sort of lucky charm. “I wouldn't say yes,” she replies tactfully. “My movies with Saif, Salman and most of my other co-actors have also been a success.”
Her relationship status is always under the scanner but being the private person that she is one can only speculate as she doesn't care to clear the air for anyone who might want to know details of her personal life.
Recently there was news about the makers of “Dum Maro Dum” going all out to make Deepika Padukone's item number sexier than “Sheila ki Jawani” and “Munni badnam Hui”. This doesn't seem to affect Katrina at all. “The success of an item number doesn't lie in the hands of the maker or of the actress but in the hands of the audience so only time will tell how big a hit this is going to be.”
The diva sweeps virtually every poll that's out to find the sexiest woman. She's even the most Googled person in India! “All this makes me feel special. The result of these polls is actually the result of the connection my fans share with me,” she says. Her next film is Zoya Akhtar's “Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara” with Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar and Abhay Deol. In her free time (she hardly gets any), Katrina says: “I do what normally people do. I gym, go watch a movie, or I just chill at home.”
