Have you consciously cut down on assignments?
It is not a conscious effort. I have always been pragmatic in the kind of work I do because when you are working in such a fickle industry with no godfather to support you have to be careful with your decision. However, every year out of the films I am offered, I have gone ahead with those which have suited my comfort level. The one factor that has to be very strong in my opinion is that out of the producer, director and co-star, one of them should have a ‘superstar' element to make me do the movie.
What is your upcoming movie Love You Mr. Kalakar all about?
It is about a girl who comes from a corporate background and is a management trainee. She meets this guy who comes from a dramatically different profession. We are not making any tall claims about how entertaining our film is. She has a modern outlook but has still retained her traditional Indian values.
Whenever a movie is close to the releasing date, there are linkups between the co-stars ?
I feel this is an outdated public relations strategy. I think Bollywood has and should grow out of this strategy.
