A fter a brush with controversies, Rahul Mahajan has changed tracks. He is producing a show for Imagine TV where youngsters can apply for jobs. Called Job Time TV, Rahul says it is an original format and one-of-its-kind on television. “Newspapers and Internet are full of classified ads but they don't paint the complete picture of the organisation you are looking for. Television has much more scope to give a detailed perspective of the jobs one is aspiring for.”

The show is scheduled for an 8.30 slot in the morning because Rahul feels that it is the time when youngsters are most keen about the job hunt. “The idea is, if a jobless person watches the show, he can rush to apply.”

No dull show

Rahul promises that it is not going to be a dull show and that it falls in the category of infotainment.

“The job information will be interspersed with company profiles and segments on how to attend the interviews. The HR professionals of leading companies will come and explain the requirements of their companies. There will be an anchor to hold things together and I will also make an appearance from time to time.”

Rahul says the show is not only for the highly educated or those looking for call centre jobs. “It is not just for the classes. We will offer options where a literate person can apply for franchisee opportunities or a kirana store owner looking for tie-ups with brands.”

Is it an attempt by him towards an image change after participating in reality shows? “I don't need to prove myself to anybody. I stand by my choices and I have been working on this show for the last two years. It's not a sudden development,” Rahul signs off.
