chat At The Hindu MetroPlus Lifestyle show, actor Nandita tells us what’s keeping her busy


Nandita has an effervescent smile. The young actor who won much praise for her debut film Neeku Naaku Dash Dash graced The Hindu MetroPlus Lifestyle show. Like any other college student, Nandita confesses her love for all things cute: handbags, shoes and jewellery. With three more projects in the pipeline, she has her hands full. If it’s not films then it’s college that’s keeping her busy. Nandita is a second year student at St. Francis college.

Talking about Neeku Naaku Dash Dash , Nandita dedicates her success to the director, “After all it’s a film by Teja, it had to be different,” she says. The actor was chosen from a state-wide hunt for actors where she beat around 70,000 other aspirants for the role. It’s been a joy ride since then, claims the wide-eyed actor. “We had many acting classes, but I owe all what I learnt to the director and what we learnt on the sets,” says Nandita. Does she still feel like a newbie in the industry? Nandita says that she is ready to take on the industry and says that hardwork and passion is all that she is going to exhibit. Ask her about the roles she wants to portray, the actor affirms that she wants to be in films that will challenge her and make her grow as an actor. “I want to do roles that are women oriented and have a presence in the story,” she says. With supportive parents, Nandita says that she is able to manage both her studies and films. “Being in the film industry is a different feeling and I feel like I’ll be able to hone my talent here,” she signs off.
