Home maker!

Who says Aadarsh isn’t doing anything? In fact he has his hands full. He is playing a role in D For Dopidi along with Ashish Vidyarthi and Pradeep Rawat and on the other hand is overseeing the construction of his house. “Our house is being renovated. My mother wanted a change initially due to vasthu and we had to take care of every little detail as it is an old structure, so one small change became a big project, plumbing to electrical, landscaping etc and we ended up building a new one. If you come home you will not recognise our building, even the exterior has been changed completely. I think we will be done in a month’s time.”

Wise move

Janardhan Maharshi believes that he had learnt a lesson the hard way, Onamalu got all the appreciation but didn’t recover money at the box office. So this time he is making a commercial entertainer in all the South languages. He had roped in Shriya Saran to play the lead role of a sex worker in Pavitra...aame oka apavitra . How would he describe the plot? “If selling your body is a crime what would you term those put up the country for sale? It is a thrilling film that concentrates on a politician and a prostitute. It is as thrilling as a 20-20 match,” he quips. Shriya has been selected for having a beautiful figure and also because she is a good performer. The multi lingual film will go on sets in November and will be completed within 50 days.

Aiming high

We all thought Dasari Gaurav Naidu mustered enough courage to sit on the fan in Ravi Babu-directed Avunu but the young actor declares that all he went through was anything but fear. His friends termed his work ‘super’. The std III student of Aditya IIT Concept School, Vanasthalipuram, made his debut in Rushi and Avunu is his second film. Currently he is working in Nagarjuna and Nayantara-starrer Love Story . He says, “I love films and I want to do more. I want to study and become like Pawan Kalyan.” But didn’t he say Ravi Teja was his favourite hero the last time we spoke to him? “I did but after seeing Pawan Kalyan riding a horse, I have started liking him too.”

Big switch

We saw Navin Polisetty as the rich handsome looking youth in Life Is Beautiful . He had already signed D For Dopidi in which he plays one of the many main leads even before he signed LIB . But a switch over from IT to movies? “I’m an engineer from N.I.T Bhopal and worked as an IT programmer in London. I always enjoyed performing as a child but unfortunately I belong to a family of IITians and was not really encouraged to pursue acting. But during college I got involved in theatre and the interest became a passion. I quit my job and came back to India to become a full time actor and started doing professional plays to hone my craft. I do voice-overs and host events and work on other media jobs while working towards making the acting dream come true.” But isn’t he taking a risk? Yes he avers, “but even while I was working, I knew I would quit sometime for films and started saving for a rainy day.”
