The iconic villain of the Hindi screen, Pran Krishan Sikand began his celluloid journey in Lahore with the Punjabi film ‘Yamla Jat’ in 1925. The director Dalsukh Pancholi later cast him in ‘Khandaan’ (1942), which was the first Hindi movie in which Pran played a romantic hero opposite Noor Jehan. He arrived in Bombay on August 14, 1947 and in 1948, he got a chance to star in the Bombay Talkies film, ‘Ziddi’ directed by Shaheed Latif, which had Dev Anand and Kamini Kaushal. And that launched his career in Bombay.
