With Sanjay Dutt working at a rapid pace to wrap up his films, it’s now Sanju Vs. Sanju in Bollywood
The clamour surrounding Sanjay Dutt’s releases is increasing. The star has been racing against time to finish the shoot of Policegiri , P.K. and Ungli , all of which are now being shot at a rapid pace and now there is much speculation about their release dates.
Zanjeer , which had uncertainty around its release date, will now hit theatres on June 14! But this is incidentally the same date for which Sanjay’s Policegiri had been finalised many months back. While in Policegiri , Sanjay plays a cop alongside Prachi Desai, in Zanjeer he is pitted against the central protagonist, a cop (Ram Charan Tejaa), before joining hands with him.
Many films of the actor are slated for release this year. Filmmakers are attempting to come up with a best case scenario, but with summer already overcrowded with many big ticket releases and IPL blocking the next couple of months, there is little flexibility available to re-strategise and plan.
Dawn of the don
According to Tusshar Kapoor who is part of Shootout at Wadala, a film on the underworld, “Ajay Devgn was excellent as a don in Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai .”
One doesn’t know if this comment has anything to do with the fact that Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai , like Shootout , was produced by Tusshar’s sister Ekta Kapoor. Shootout At Wadala is directed by Sanjay Gupta and Tusshar adds: “Sanjay knows how to present guys like men. The USP of an experienced director is that he doesn’t give too many instructions and are very comfortable to work with. This film is different from his previous works, it is more realistic, and he has kept the style intact. That comes with 20 years of movie-making experience.”
